Munnar:
This place is said to be again a romantic destination but it is much more to that. Located in the state of Kerala, it is the place, where mountains and backwaters call for love. Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Thiruvananthapuram:
This temple is located at the heart of the city of Thiruvananthapuram and in this temple reside the idol of Lord Vishnu. The deity or the idol inside the temple is in its sleeping posture and this temple is considered to be the holiest place as it is included in the 108 most holy abodes of Lord Vishnu. This temple is also famous for its fine stone carvings and designs.
Kappil Beach, Varkala:
This beach is located very near the city of Thiruvananthapuram; which is the capital of this state. This beach is said to be the tranquil beach which is serene and yet it is much less crowded. This little beach is a world on its own with clear water touching one’s feet and the coconut trees lining the shore makes it a perfect place of peace.
Vembanad Lake:
It is the longest lake in India which crosses many districts in the state. This is a beautiful lake with serene natural surroundings located in Kerala state and this is the place where the famous Nehru Trophy Snake Boat race takes place. This is also a favorite place for the migratory birds as winter in Kerala is very pleasant.
Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, Kottayam:
This place is a huge bird sanctuary which is spread across 14 acres of land and is located on the banks of Lake Vembanad. One can find a large variety of birds here like owls, kingfishers, cuckoos, and water ducks and wood beetles. This place is a paradise for those who are bird watchers and also a place of delight for the photographers as well. The best time to visit here is definitely from November to February.
